Awkwafina
Awkwafina started out as an American performer and rapper, performing sly tunes that dealt with issues such as racial and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood the singer was able to make a few songs. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. Alongside classical music and jazz, she began studying hip-hop in her teens. In college, she focused on her studies. She studied women's studies as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. Her focus shifted to music once she graduated. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in the year 2012. The track was later included on her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour the city of New York Bitche$. The final track was closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in 2015. A musician and author was on her resume she determined to pursue a third endeavor actor. She has appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
